Sheridan Emergency Department Update

New Reception & Waiting Area Now Open!

Patients and visitors at the Sheridan Emergency Department are now greeted by an all-new Reception & Waiting Area – the first phase of our complete expansion and modernization of the Department.

Next up, we’re transforming our old waiting room into a new Waiting Area for our less seriously ill patients who are in need of laboratory tests, infusion treatments, or consultation with our emergency care team. This area is scheduled for completion by the start of November.

The new Sheridan Emergency Department – with 7,000-square-feet of additional space providing a more comfortable, private and personalized care experience – is scheduled to be completed in early 2027.

Department Will Stay Open Throughout
The Expansion Project

The Sheridan Emergency Department will remain fully operational and able to care for all patients throughout the expansion and modernization project. All patients should continue to enter through the usual Emergency Department entrance.

  • There will be no reduction in patient beds or other emergency care capabilities.

  • The Emergency Department team has developed and is implementing a comprehensive plan to ensure that all patients are cared for expertly, efficiently, and comfortably at all times.

Modified Visitor Policy During Construction

As we continue work to upgrade the Emergency Department clinical space and workflows, we regrettably must limit the number of visitors as follows:

  • One visitor for each adult Emergency Department patient.

  • Children may be accompanied by two parents or guardians.

We look forward to returning to our normal visitation policies as soon as construction allows.

 Thank you for your understanding.
